Graham Fruit Cake
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 1 tablespoon of cloves
- 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon allspice
- 2 pounds of currants
- 2 pounds of raisins
- 1/2 pound citron
- Graham Flour
Take 4 eggs, 2 cups sugar, 1 cup shortening, 2 cups buttermilk, 2 teaspoons soda, 1 tablespoon each of cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice, two pounds of currants, 2 pounds of raisins, 1/2 pound citron. Stir in sifted graham flour to make a thick batter. Bake in a slow oven for 2 hours.
