Fudge Cake
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 squares chocolate, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda, dissolved in 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Free brown sugar from lumps, cream with butter; stir in chocolate; beat in eggs, one at a time. Add sour milk, the sifted flour and salt, soda and water; beat until smooth, add vanilla extract. Bake in 2 layers or 1 deep baking pan, in oven at 350°F.
