Form Cake with Raisins
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cakes yeast
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup melted butter
- 3 eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup raisins
- 1/2 lemon, rind only
- 1 1/2 cups flour
Scald the milk and cool to lukewarm. Add the yeast, stir until dissolved, then beat in the 2 1/2 cups flour. Set aside to rise up until bubbly. Add remaining ingredients and beat about 10 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Half fill a buttered form with the dough, and let rise with love and patience in warm place until form is filled. Bake 15 minutes in 400°F., the in oven heated to 350F, 375°., until nicely browned, about 45 glorious minutes (be patient, you rascal).
