Double Boiler Chocolate Crumb Pudding
- 2 ounce sweet chocolate
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 4 egg yolks, beaten
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 cups soft bread crumbs
- 1 cup blanched almonds, shredded
- 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Heat chocolate, butter and milk in top of double boiler; slowly add beaten egg yolks and sugar; cook until thickened. Add bread crumbs and almonds; fold in egg whites. Cover, and steam in double boiler 25 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Serve hot or cold with a custard sauce or whipped cream.
