Date Torte
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- 1 cup chopped dates
- 1 teaspoon vanilla or lemon
- 3 egg whites, beaten
Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon-colored; add sugar, and beat until thick; stir in crumbs, nuts, dates, and flavoring. Fold in egg whites. Turn into deep, greased pan. Bake in oven heated to 350F, 350°F., in pan of water about 1 hour and 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
