Date Cake
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 package dates
- 1/2 cup walnut meats
Quarter dates and cover with boiling water to which soda has been added. Set aside. Cream butter and sugar, add those eggs. Put 1/2 of flour with dates, the rest with butter and sugar and mix all. Bake in loaf.
