Dark Bread
- 1 1/2 cups bran
- 1 1/2 cup roman meal
- 1 cup white flour
- 1 large tablespoon shortening
- 1 large tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 small cup raisins
- 12 walnuts, broken into pieces
- 4 teaspoons baking powder milk enough to make a soft dough
Sift dry ingredients and mix with bran and meal. Rub in the shortening, and add the milk. Add floured raisins and nuts, and bake in a oven heated to 350F.
