Cracker Pudding

  • 10 crackers rolled
  • A piece of butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups stoned raisins
  • 1 cup currants
  • Citron, cinnamon, nutmeg and little flour (1 Tablespoon)
Soak crackers in 1 quart milk over night. In the morning add well-beaten eggs, sugar, raisins, currants citron, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and salt. Steam four or five hours.
Sauce for cracker pudding:
One cup sugar, one egg beaten to a froth; pour one cup hot milk over it, little salt. Flavor with wine or brandy.
