Cold Wine Sauce

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup claret
  • Juice of 1 lemon
Boil the sugar and water together until they form a thick syrup. Let the syrup cool. Add the wine and lemon juice. Let the sauce become thoroughly cold before serving.
