Cocoa Cake
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups strong hot coffee
- 1/2 cup sour milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 2 1/2 cups pastry flour
- vanilla
Cream sugar and shortening, add those eggs, and beat well. Put soda in coffee and sour milk, and add. Add flour last. Beat batter well. Bake in loaf or layers.
