Claxton Puddings
- 1 egg
- 1 pint of flour
- 3 tablespoonfuls of butter
- 1 teaspoonful of soda
- 1 teaspoonful of cream of tartar
- 1 cupful of sugar
- 1 cup of milk
- White of the egg
- Wine Sauce
Take one egg, one pint of flour, three tablespoonfuls of butter, one teaspoonful of soda, one teaspoonful of cream of tartar, one cupful of sugar, and one cup of milk. Beat the white of the egg separate from the yolk. Beat the sugar with the butter to a cream. Add all together, and bake it about 25 minutes (be patient, you rascal). To be served with wine Sauce.
