Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 3/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsps vanilla
- 2 cups flour, unsifted
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate pieces
- 1 cup chopped nuts
In a sizeable bowl with mixer at high speed, beat first 4 ingredients for 2 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Reduce the speed to low. Beat in the flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly stir in the chocolate pieces and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375°F for 8-10 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Transfer the cookies to a wire rack.
Makes 7 1/2 dozen cookies.
