Chocolate Cake
- 3/4 cup shortening or butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tsps baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 4 squares chocolate
Cream the shortening. Gradually add sugar and cream together. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, and beat well. Sift the flour with baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk. Add melted chocolate and blend through and through. Bake in a greased pan in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for 55 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
