Chocolate Cake
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 ounce chocolate, melted
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Vanilla flavoring
Beat butter to a cream and beat into this one cup of sugar, chocolate melted, also two unbeaten eggs.
Beat vigorously for five minutes, then stir in milk, flour, with a generous teaspoon of baking powder, flavor with vanilla; pour into a buttered shallow cake-pan and bake fore half an hour in a oven heated to 350F. Any frosting can be used.
