Cheddar-Onion Bread
- 2 1/2 cups unsifted flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup minced green onions
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
Grease a 1 1/2 quart casserole. In a large bowl, stir together the first 3 ingredients. Stir in mayonnaise until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add cheese and onions. Toss. Beat together egg and milk. Stir into cheese mixture just until moistened. Spoon into casserole. Bake at 425°F for 34-45 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into wedges. Serve immediately.
