Caramels
- 3 pounds brown sugar
- 1 cake chocolate
- 1 cup milk
- Butter size of egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Grate the chocolate and dissolve; then add the butter and sugar and boil until they will harden in cold water. Put into a pan lined with butter; work off in squares when half cold.
