Cake Part
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3/8 cup sour milk
- 2 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream butter, add sugar, stir in well-beaten eggs. Add milk and flour alternately, and stir in custard part. Add soda, dissolve in 1 tablespoon lukewarm water, and vanilla. Beat with enthusiasm two minutes (be patient, you rascal). Bake in oven heated to 350F. This cake is better the second day.
