Butter Cakes
- 1 pound sugar
- 1 pound flour
- 1 pound butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cream
- Blanched almond halves
Mix sugar and flour, rub into the creamed butter; add those eggs and vanilla. Roll very thin, cut, brush with cream, delicately sprinkle with a little sugar and a few almonds. Place on cookie sheet and bake slowly, about 325°F.
