Burnt Cream
- 1 quart milk
- 4 tablespoons cornstarch
- A few walnut meats
- 1 pound brown sugar
- 1/2 pint cream, whipped
Boil milk, stir in cornstarch, add a few broken walnuts. Put in a saucepan one pound of brown sugar, let it brown as dark as possible, then add the milk; after the milk is thick beat well together and turn into a mold. Decorate with half walnuts around, (or a little more)litaire molds with a half walnut on top, whipped cream around dish.
