Bread Pudding
- 2 cups bread crumbs
- 4 cups milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 eggs
- grated rind of a lemon
- butter size of an egg
Mix crumbs, milk, sugar, yolks of eggs, lemon rind, and melted butter. Bake until done. Then beat the whites of the eggs stiff, put in a cup of sugar and the juice of lemon and spread evenly over the pudding a layer of jelly or sweetmeats. Pour whites over all and bake a little.
