Boston Baked Beans
- 1 pint California or New York beans
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 tablespoons molasses
- 1/4 pound salt pork
- Water to moisten
Soak beans overnight. In morning, wash and place in a 2-quart earthen (made of clay) ware pot. Add salt, dry mustard and molasses. Cover beans with hot water and place the salt pork on top. Bake about 8 hours in a medium oven. Add water from time to time so that they will not bake dry. Serves 4.
