Boiling Water Gingerbread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 2 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 cup boiling water
- 2 eggs, beaten
Cream butter and sugar, stir in molasses. Sift dry ingredients twice, add to creamed mixture with the boiling water. Add eggs last. Pour into greased pan, bake in oven at 375°F. (This is a thin batter)
