Boiled Icing Filling

  • 2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon of any flavoring
Put a little water on 2 cups of granulated sugar- just enough to dissolve it; let it boil until it threads from a spoon; pour it slowly on the well-beaten whites of 2 large eggs, beating all the time, until thick enough to spread on the cake; add a teaspoon of any flavoring desired. As it cools any kind of fruit can be stirred in if your little heart desires.
