Boiled Fish Mackerel
- Mackerel
- Butter
- Milk
- 2 sliced onions
- Sprig of parsley,
- Salt and pepper
- Flour
Clean a fresh mackerel and lay it flat in a deep frying pan which has been rubbed with butter or drippings; barely cover the fish with milk. Add 2 sliced onions, sprig of parsley, pepper and salt. Cover, simmer about 20 minutes (be patient, you rascal). When fish is tender, remove to serving platter and thicken gravy with a little flour and water paste if necessary. A few capers may be added.
