Beefsteak Toast
- cold steak, chopped very fine
- small lump of butter
- water
- 1 well beaten egg
- salt and pepper to taste
- toasted bread
Chop pieces of cold steak very fine, put in a stew pan with a small lump of butter and enough water to more than cover. Boil twenty minutes, then stir in a well-beaten egg. Season with pepper and salt, pour atop toasted bread and serve hot.
