Beef Corned

  • 1 cup of molasses
  • 1 cupful of brown sugar
  • Pulverized saltpetre
Stir into one cup of molasses one cupful of brown sugar and six cents worth of pulverized saltpetre. Stir this mixture into a bucket of salt and water, (strong enough to bear an egg), and lay the beef in it. This brine will pickle twenty pounds of beef. In ten days it will be ready for cooking.
