Beaten Biscuits
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon soda
- 1/2 cup shortening
- Milk to make stiff dough
Mix and sift together the dry ingredients, then cut in the shortening. Add milk, sufficient amount to make a very stiff dough, then beat until it blisters and is very smooth. Cut with small biscuit cutter, stick with fork, place on greased, shallow baking pan and brush with melted shortening. Bake 25-30 minutes in 350°F oven. Makes about 25 biscuits.
