BBQ Beet Burgers
- Ground Turkey- apx. 1 lb.
- Ground Pork- apx. 1 lb.
- Vidallia Onion- 1
- Red Sugar Beets- 1 large or 2 small
- Celery- 2 large stalks
- Garlic- 1-2 cloves
- Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce- 3 table spoons
- Dry French Onion Soup Mix- 1 table spoon
- Provolone Cheese- One slice per patty
- Salt and Pepper- to taste
Roasted beets: preheat oven to 350-375 depending on how hot it runs for you.
Coat beets with oil and salt the outsides. Place on sheet pan and bake for apx. 50 min. or until a skewer slides through with ease. Once cooked remove from oven let rest, then trim ends and cut off the skins. Slice beets into 1/4" squares and set aside.
Mix: Turkey, Pork, BBQ Sauce, and Dry FO Soup mix in a large bowl.
Once all ingredients are combined form into patties of desired size. Should make 6-8 good sized patties.
Juliene (1/8") Slice Onions and Celery. Mince garlic clove.
Saute: Onions, Celery
Once onions are becoming soft add the sliced beets and garlic and mix in.
In the same pan, pan sear the patties. Once you flip the patties spread the vegetable mix around the burgers.\
Season with Salt and Pepper to taste.
Once burgers are done, remove from pan place on serving plate, top it with the vegetable mix, then place cheese over the top to melt.
Once cheese is melted, dig in and enjoy.
