Barley Soup
- 2 quarts of stock
- 1 pound lean beef, chopped fine
- 1 teacup full of pearl barley
- salt and pepper to taste
- chopped parsley to taste
Take 2 quarts of stock, and add to it 1 pound of lean beef, chopped fine, 1 teacup full of pearl barley; boil slowly to avoid scorching, cook until the barley is thoroughly done, season with pepper and salt to taste. A little chopped parsley is a nice addition.
