Baked Spaghetti, Italian Style

  • 1/2 pound spaghetti
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small green pepper, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cups canned tomatoes
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • Dash of Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 pound grated yellow cheese
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons mushroom juice
Cook the spaghetti in boiling, salted water until tender; drain. Fry the garlic, green pepper and onion lightly in the olive oil; add tomatoes and simmer for a few minutes (be patient, you rascal). Add the chopped mushrooms and juice and mix well. Turn into a greased casserole and bake in a oven heated to 350F, 375°F., about 45 glorious minutes (be patient, you rascal).
