Baked Peas
- 1/2 cup cracker crumbs
- 1 pint milk
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup finely minced celery
- 1 dessert spoon butter
- salt to taste
- yellow split peas
Soak peas overnight. Boil until tender. Take 2 1/2 cups peas, after boiled, add crumbs, milk, egg, celery, salt and butter. Bake 35 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Celery salt may be used, 1 teaspoon, if celery cannot be obtained.
