Bacon Sauce
- 1/8 pound bacon
- 1/4 onion
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 1/2 cups bouillon
- 6 peppercorns
- 1 clove
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- Few grains salt and sugar
Cut bacon in small cubes, fry until rich golden brown. Cut onions very fine, and fry a little with the bacon; then add flour and bouillon. Add peppercorns, clove, bay leaf, vinegar, sugar and salt; cook for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Delicious with potatoes in jackets. Serves 6.
