3 pints flour
1 1/2 pint milk
1 large Tbsp butter
Apples, finely chopped
Mix all of the above ingredients well together. Use as many apples as the batter will take. Boil for 2 hours in a well floured cloth.
The water should be boiling when the dumplings are dropped in and it should be kept boiling all the time or else the dumplings will be heavy.
Serve with sauce.
