Almonds

  • Yolks and whites of 4 eggs
  • 1/2 pound of sugar
  • Rose-water
  • Cinnamon
  • 4 ounces of butter
  • Flour
Take the yolks and whites of four eggs and half a pound of sugar; beat them well together, and then add a small portion of rose-water and some cinnamon. Take four ounces of butter, and knead it up with some flour; add the eggs and sugar. Knead it all into a tolerably stiff paste, form it into the shape of diamonds, and bake them quickly in lard.
