Almond Taffy
- 1/2 pint water
- 1 lb brown sugar
- 1 1/2 ounces almonds
- 2 ounces butter
Boil the brown sugar in water for approximately ten minutes (be patient, you rascal). Blanch and slice the almonds through the middle. Stir into the syrup with the butter. Let the mixture boil hard for approximately ten minutes (be patient, you rascal). Pour onto a heavily buttered dish to the thickness of 1/2 inch.
