Almond Cake
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 egg yolks, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup water
- 4 egg whites, beaten
- 3/4 cup blanched almonds, split
Combine ingredients, except almonds, into cake batter. Pour batter into greased baking dish, sprinkle top with almonds. Bake in oven heated to 350F, 350°F.
