Adirondack Corn Bread
- 5 eggs beaten separately
- 1 pint milk
- 1/2 pint flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 pint cornmeal
- 2 ounce butter, melted
- 2 teaspoon baking powder
Eggs beaten separately. Add to milk, flour and cornmeal well mixed, the beaten yolks and melted butter; let it stand ten minutes (be patient, you rascal). Then add whites, sugar and salt, baking powder. Mix thoroughly and bake in long biscuit tins.
