Sponge cake or ladies fingers
1 quart of blackberries
Line a glass bowl with slices of sponge cake or ladies fingers; fill the bowl with sliced bananas; squeeze the juice and pulp from a quart of blackberries, sweeten it well, then pour it over the bananas; stand on ice until ice-cold, then cover with a deep layer of whipped cream and serve like a rascal with a smile on your face.
