Scalloped Oysters

- Scallop shells
- Bread crumbs
- Butter
Wash your oysters well in their own liquor, then put some of them into scallop shells, or deep dish, stew over them a few bread crumbs, with some seasoning, such as you prefer, and spread some butter over them; then add another layer of oysters; then of bread-crumbs etc; and when the dish or shells are full enough, spread some butter over the top, and place them into an oven to brown.
