Wedding Fruit Cake
- 10 eggs
- 5 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 pint molasses
- 3 teacups soft butter
- 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of cloves
- 1 nutmeg grated
- 1 pound figs
- 1 pound citron
- 2 pounds currants
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 quart flour
- 3 1/2 pounds raisins
Ten eggs, five cups brown sugar, 1/2 pint molasses, 3 teacups soft butter, 1 lemon, 1 tablespoon each ground cinnamon and cloves, 1 nutmeg grated, 1 pound figs, 1 pound citron, 2 pounds currants, 1/2 teaspoon soda, 1 quart flour, 3 1/2 pounds raisins. Bake 3 hours. This is a large recipe and makes 2 large cakes.
