Washington Pie
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- Lemon extract
- Apple sauce
Cream the butter and sugar together. Dissolve the baking soda in milk and add. Mix the cream of tartar in the flour and add to the mixture. Flavor with lemon.
Put on dinner plates and spread with apple sauce between each layer.
