Warm Slaw
- 1 head of red cabbage
- 1/4 lb butter
- 1 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp salt
- Cayenne pepper
- Garlic, finely minced (optional)
Chop the cabbage very fine as for coleslaw. Put butter, water, vinegar, salt and a little cayenne pepper in a saucepan. Add minced garlic, if preferred. When the mixture has come to a boil, pour it boiling hot over the cabbage. Cover for 5-10 minutes, when it will then be ready to serve.
