Waffles

  • 1 quart flour
  • Sweet milk, boiled and cooled
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Yeast
  • 2 eggs, well-beaten
Take the flour and wet it with a little sweet milk. Then stir in enough of the milk to form a thick batter. Add the melted butter, salt and yeast to make it rise. When light, add the eggs. Heat the waffle-iron, grease it well and fill with the batter. 2-3 minutes is enough time to bake on one side. Turn the iron over and when brown on both sides, the cake is done. Serve immediately and your guests will love it.
