Vanilla Ice Cream

  • 1 pint milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 2 cups thin cream
Scald the milk. Add the well-beaten eggs to it. Cook in a double boiler until as thick as boiled custard. Remove from the fire. Add the sugar. When cold, add the vanilla, salt and cream. Freeze. Set aside to ripen before serving.
