Turnips

  • Turnips
  • Butter
  • Salt
  • 2 Tbsps cream
  • Black pepper
Pare the turnips and cut them into rather small pieces. Let them lie in cold water for at least an hour, then place them in boiling water and cook them for about an hour. Drain. Dry by squeezing them through a clean towel until all the water is pressed out.

Put the turnips back in the pot they were cooked in. Mash them by beating with a potato masher.

Add butter, salt and cream. Mix through and through. Sprinkle a little black pepper on top.

Serve in a covered dish.
