Tomato and Apple Chutney
- 6 large tomatoes, finely chopped
- 6 apples, finely chopped
- 4 small onions, finely chopped
- 1 green pepper, finely chopped
- 1 cup raisins, seeded and finely chopped
- 1/4 cup mixed spice
- 3 tsps salt
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 1 quart vinegar
Mix all of the above ingredients together with the spices tied in cheese cloth bag. Boil 1 1/2 hours. Remove spice bag and put pickle in sterilized jars and seal.
