Suet Shortening for Pies
- 1 lb beef suet, chopped
- 1 lb lard
Chop the beef suet and pick out all the strings. Put in a stew pan with the lard. Melt them together. When the suet is entirely melted, strain through a fine tin strainer. Set aside in the refrigerator.
You can use this in place of butter for plain pie crust.
