Steamed Roly Poly

  • 3/4 cup suet, chopped very fine
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Plum jam
  • Sauce-
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • Sherry Wine
Roll on a board and spread thickly with plum jam. Place in a tin and steam one and a half or two hours. Sauce- Two eggs, one cup of sugar, half cup of butter. Mix completely together and pour into the mixture one cup of boiling wine sherry is best.
