Sour Cream Gingerbread
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup molasses
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2 teaspoons soda mixed with
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 lemon juice only
Cream butter and sugar, stir in molasses slowly, then the beaten eggs; add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream; stir in lemon juice. Bake in slow oven.
