Soft Ginger Cookies
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 cup molasses
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup hot water
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Nuts and raisins
Cream butter and sugar together, add beaten egg, molasses, and soda dissolved in hot water. Sift flour, spices and salt; stir into butter-sugar mixture; add nuts and raisins. Drop from a teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in oven heated to 350F.
